Course Overview

This unit is designed to enable learners to understand the main areas of professional practice in the outdoor and adventure sports industry. Learners will understand the considerations that are involved in providing a safe outdoor/adventure environment. They will also gain knowledge and skills which allow them to apply industry legislation and guidance in outdoor education and adventure sports contexts.  

 

This unit is designed for learners who are seeking to develop the underpinning knowledge and skills to operate safely and effectively in an outdoor or adventure sports context.

Music Business Year 2

Unit purpose This unit is designed to develop the learners’ knowledge of law as it applies to the music industry and to develop skills in evaluating the impact of contemporary issues on copyright and contracts. The unit will examine issues relating to music copyright, trademark and the collection societies before evaluating the impact of a current issue on music copyright. Learners will then go on to examine a music industry agreement and evaluate the impact of the agreement on the parties to the deal. The unit is intended to give HN Music Business, HN Music and HN Sound Production learners the opportunity to explore issues that have shaped contemporary practice relating to copyright law and music business contracts. Outcomes On successful completion of the unit the learner will be able to: 1 Explain law relating to music copyright and trademark and evaluate benefits of collection societies. 2 Explain a contemporary issue and evaluate the impact on music industry copyright. 3 Explain and evaluate a contemporary music industry agreement.
